Click Here to see what the schools are saying about YEA!

Art programs for schools have been hard hit and suffer greatly from budget cuts leaving behind limited art experiences for youth. YEA! is a response to this sad truth. With a desire to elevate the status of art in the minds of young people and to elevate the status of young people in the minds of the community, a program has been created to support the visual art of Sonoma County youth:

YOUNG EXHIBITING ARTISTS! (YEA!) promotes an environment for young artists to explore and experience the process of creating a work of art from the first spark of imagination to it's culmination in exhibition.

This years exhibition program is funded by a grant from the Spirit Foundation . Creator and lead artist Lisa R. Fredenthal-Lee will provide hands on art experiences that engage young people to learn collaboration as well as individual expression. Youth will be provided with an understanding of what exhibition is and why artists exhibit. Young artists will gain insight into the gallery process and an understanding of art in a public context. Exhibition is yet another means of communication.

YEA! was created to give children the opportunity to create and exhibit art. Freedom of expression and pride of exhibition! Art allows one to express their individuality and to communicate their ideas about themselves and their world. The act of art making for our young people is imperative. Exhibition is a forum to share their expressions with the world around them.

YEA! We have experienced great success in our first year of this new and exciting exhibition program! YEA! Is in the process of finding funds to continue on to assist our young artists!
